Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 states that the dutyholder must ensure that a suitable and sufficient assessment, or survey, is carried out as to whether asbestos is or is liable to be present in the premises.
All Merits' asbestos surveys are undertaken in accordance with HSE publication 'HSG264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide'
Once the survey has been completed Merit can produce a site specific management plan. We work with you to evaluate the priority assessment (likelihood of the asbestos being disturbed) and produce a plan to assist you in managing your asbestos.
Many instances of identified asbestos containing materials can be managed.
Where removal is unavoidable we can work with you to ensure you get best value for money in your required timescale.
Asbestos awareness training should be given to employees whose work could foreseeably disturb the fabric of a building and expose them to asbestos or who supervise or influence the work.
We can arrange this for you at a suitable time to minimise any disruption to your employees
Merits' Asbestos Management can start with a desktop study, providing our clients with their first step to ensure compliance under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. We will undertake a gap analysis which examines what has been completed and identifies any gaps. We work with our clients to bring their asbestos management up to date and compliant with the current asbestos legislation.
Merit can provide advice and recommend a timescale for re-inspecting the identified asbestos containing materials. This will assist you in ensuring compliance and highlight any materials which may have deteriorated over time.
